The first Florida chapter of Tau Sigma was established at UCF in 2002. Students are invited to join this honors organization after completing one semester of ten credit hours or more at UCF and achieving at least a 3.5 UCF GPA. Invitations are mailed near the beginning of each fall and spring term. Questions about Tau Sigma may be referred to the executive committee at tausigma@ucf.edu. Tau Sigma provides one scholarship to a Tau Sigma member from each academic college at the University of Central Florida every semester. There are eight colleges: College of Arts and Humanities, College of Sciences, College of Biomedical Science, College of Business Administration, College of Education, College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Health and Public Affairs, Rosen College of Hospitality Management. Every UCF Tau Sigma student member may apply for one scholarship per semester; a member of Tau Sigma can only be awarded one scholarship per academic year. Membership encourages dynamic transfer students to become actively engaged in the campus community, while providing opportunities for development to assist other transfer students and to develop their own leadership potential. |
