Conflict Management in College and Beyond

This workshop is part of a Transfer Success Series hosted by the Peer Mentors of Transfer and Transition Services. Sylvia Farris, of Dispute Resolution Services, will present this workshop. Conflict Management in College and Beyond is an interactive presentation specifically tailored to meet the needs of the audience. Basic definitions and concepts will be covered, as well as the application of knowledge through scenarios. These concepts can be incorporated into all aspects of life such as work, school and personal relationships.

Safe Sex
Thursday, March 8th, 2007, 4:00- 5:00 P.M.
Location: Howard Phillips Hall 112

This workshop is part of a Transfer Success Series hosted by the Peer Mentors of Transfer and Transition Services. Leslie Mulet, of REACH, will present this workshop. Safer Sex is a workshop designed to educate students on how to have safe sex. It includes demonstrations on how to properly use a male and female condom, information on HIV/AIDS and how to protect yourself from HIV and other STIs.

Cross Cultural Communication Patterns

This workshop is part of a Transfer Success Series hosted by the Peer Mentors of Transfer and Transition Services. Michael Freeman, of Diversity Initiatives, will present this workshop. The verbal and nonverbal communication patterns of individuals reared in different cultures vary in some rather meaningful ways. This session explores the learned patterns of expression that, when not understood, may lead to misunderstandings that have negative implications for individuals and organizations.

Experiential Learning: How to find co-op, internship, and service-learning opportunities

This workshop is part of a Transfer Success Series hosted by the Peer Mentors of Transfer and Transition Services. Amanda Pacheco, of Career Services and Experiential Learning, will present this workshop. The Experiential Learning office can help through co-op, internship, and service-learning opportunities. Co-op and internships offer work experience related to your major or career goals, and in most cases, these positions are paid. Service-Learning allows you to serve the community within the academic courses you choose. This session will tell you more about these options and how to get involved.
